Answers:
What are your company hours?
Office hours for To The Top Tutoring, Inc.
are
M - F 9:00 am to 5:30 pm. However,
tutoring can take place any time of the day or
evening including weekends. All phone
messages are returned promptly and company
representatives will answer e-mails well after
normal business hours and during the weekend if
necessary.
How often does my child require tutoring?
The answer to this question
depends on how quickly you would like your child
to catch up. We normally recommend a
minimum of two hours a week for each student
being tutored. Anything less than two
hours has proven to be ineffective as
consistency and student focus is difficult to
establish. If a student is a full grade
level behind we recommend 3 to 5 hours of
tutoring a week.
How long does my child require tutoring?
Duration of tutoring services is
largely dependent upon the strengths,
weaknesses, and needs of each student.
Some students are farther behind than others and
this will affect the amount of tutoring needed.
Our goal is to have
the student working effectively on their own as
soon as possible. We depend upon referrals
from satisfied clients to grow our business -
not perpetual tutoring with a single student.
What is the hourly
rate for tutoring?
We charge flexible and
competitive rates for
tutoring services; also, purchasing a
tutoring package will provided a significant
discount. Please visit
our rates page for more details.
Are there any registration fees or
additional costs?
Absolutely not, you pay only the
hourly rate for the tutoring services you
receive.
How will I pay for tutoring?
You will pay To The Top Tutoring,
Inc. in advance of receiving tutoring services. You may use whatever payment
method is most convenient for you. (Credit
Card or Check)
How do you ensure the quality of tutors?
All To The Top Tutoring, Inc.
tutors are certified teachers and/or degreed
professionals. All are required to
demonstrate a proficiency in the subject(s) that
they will be tutoring. Our tutors are also
intimately familiar with the local education
standards (e.g. VA SOLs) which gives them the
ability to understand the specific content that
students are facing everyday in school. We
compensate tutors better than most tutoring
agencies to ensure that we have the best talent
available.
If
for any reason you are not fully satisfied with
your tutor, we will immediately substitute that
teacher for one that better meets your
requirements.
How do you screen tutors?
To The Top Tutoring
carefully screens each and every tutoring
applicant. Application information is then
validated and references are checked.
Proof of teaching certificate or college degree
is required for all tutors. We also ensure
that each and every tutor has a sweet and
patient disposition.
What if I want tutoring somewhere other than
my home?
We will meet you
or your child where learning is most
comfortable. While the home is the most
common venue for tutoring, a school, local
library, or community center are typical
alternatives. We do require a parent/legal
guardian to be available during all tutoring
sessions. Our goal is to have your entire
learning experience be convenient and fun.
We will always work around your busy schedule.
What is your cancellation policy?
We require that
you notify the company of a cancelled tutoring
session at least 24 hours in advance. More
details can be found in the Instructional
Contract that To The Top Tutoring will provide.
Can I meet with the tutor before tutoring
begins?
You will have the
opportunity to meet and evaluate the tutor
during the first trial session. The first tutoring session is
partially committed to building rapport with the
student; however, we begin one-on-one
instruction during the first session. The parent, tutor, and student are usually present for the
first session.
